Snow plant
This is a fungus that lives off of dead roots.

When flying, these are brigh yellow and have really pretty long "feathers" at the tip of each wing.

Prescribed burn
Sections of sequoia were bring burned to help the growth of the forest. The top pix shows smoke chiming out of a sequoia. The bottom shows the forest floor

The third largest tree in the world, 1,700 years old, 268 feet tall, 1,254 tons.
